Power engineers maintain, operate and manage both industrial and commercial plants that use boiler and refrigeration equipment. Only certified Power Engineers are permitted to operate such equipment across all Canadian provinces and territories. TFM Consultants International LTD offers courses and training that will help you achieve your goals in this booming industry. Our program will provide you with the knowledge and skills that allow you to apply for your provincial power engineer certification.

Course Description

The Power Engineer Boiler Lab program provides the technical knowledge and skills needed by individuals wanting to attain their steam time in the field of power engineering. Through our daily work experience, students will gain valuable hands on experience operating a high pressure steam boiler, using repair/maintenance equipment, operating refrigeration system, operating a pump system, and a various other equipment found in all plants. 

The Program

This program is for 5th and 4th class Power Engineering students that have completed a Full time training program and need hands-on experience to complete their interprovincial certificate or qualification.  Prior to training all students will go through an orientation of the program and equipment. Each student will be given a manual which includes the boiler manual and a logbook to record their work experience. They will also need to pass a Basic Boiler Safety test prior to operating the boiler.

Course Duration

5th Class 80 days
4th Class 130 days.

Program Fees

5th Class is $3,437.50 plus GST
4th Class is $5,362.50 plus GST
This includes all labs, logbook, and safety supplies for the full duration of the course except for foot wear.
