Power engineers maintain, operate and manage both industrial and commercial plants that use boiler and refrigeration equipment. Only certified Power Engineers are permitted to operate such equipment across all Canadian provinces and territories.

4th CLASS POWER ENGINEER (PART A) PROGRAM

The 4th Class Power Engineer (Part A) program provides the technical knowledge and skills needed by individuals wanting to enter into the field of power engineering. In addition; upon successful completion of the program, students are prepared to write their Technical Safety BC interprovincial examination. This is the first of two exams towards the 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate.

THE PROGRAM

This program is taught in a “classroom style” environment. It consists of demonstrations, lectures, visual presentations and exercises that help to enhance the material covered. Furthermore; this is all presented in an easy going manner with many open discussions as it is intended to teach persons with little or no experience.

COURSE DURATION

The 4th Class Power Engineering (Part A) program is a 160 hour program which is accredited through the Technical Safety BC. The course is Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:00pm. Students will be required to complete some homework assignments and allow for additional studying outside of class.
